Josef Schwarz School

Heilbronn | Germany

The construction project

During the expansion and modernization of the Josef Schwarz School in Heilbronn, a custom-made, floor-guided sliding gate was installed.
The large-format door impresses with its high functionality, seamless integration into the existing architecture as well as state-of-the-art drive technology and comprehensive safety features.

Technical data:

  • Size: approx. 8.300 x 4.400 mm
  • Additional heated and drained floor rail
  • 8 safety contact strips
  • 1 BEA Flatscan laser area monitoring

Special features of the gate construction:

Measuring an impressive 8.300 x 4.400 mm, the floor-running sliding gate was custom-built. An integrated wicket door allows quick and easy access without having to open the entire gate. The special floor track is also heated and drained, ensuring reliable year-round use even in adverse weather conditions.

The drive is provided by a powerful electric chain drive from Schnetz. Combined with the innovative HPS Motion 2 automatic control system from Hodapp, this ensures simple operation and maximum reliability. The control system allows for individually adjustable and convenient use of the system.

No compromises were made in the area of safety. All crush and shear points were consistently protected by a total of:

  • 8 safety contact strips
  • 1 BEA Flatscan laser area monitoring

This ensures optimal protection for all users and minimizes risks during operation.

Drive technology:

The drive technology presented a particular challenge due to the limited installation space. The hydraulic drive technology originally requested by the customer could not be implemented due to the lack of installation space.

The on-site paneling was visually coordinated with the school's existing facade design, ensuring the gate blends seamlessly into its surroundings. This combines aesthetic architecture with the highest technical quality and security.
