Reliably opened and safely closed in case of fire.

Fire protection closures in rail-bound conveyor systems are always used when a conveyor system has to be led through a fire wall from one fire compartment to another. In these cases, it is necessary to close the necessary openings with fire protection closures specifically approved for this application.

The closures prevent the spread of fire via the conveyor technology or the conveyed goods by safely removing the conveyed goods from the door area in the event of a fire and then closing the door area. The products have fire resistance class EI2-120 tested according to EN 1366-7.

Product Information

Possible conveyor systems for the use of a conveyor system closure include roller, chain and belt conveyor systems and electric overhead conveyors. Only specially tested conveyor system closures may be used. In addition, the closures must have an approval from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) or a European Technical Assessment (ETA).

In order to take the different types of systems into account, the fire protection closures are individually adapted to the respective situation and the specific framework conditions. In addition to the approved conveyor system closure, it is equally important to install a control system that is adapted to the requirements. For this purpose, Hodapp GmbH & Co. KG has its own control system with which even complex requirements can be implemented.

The approved battery-buffered “HPS-Advanced” type holding system is available to keep the gates open. This holding system can be expanded modularly to include an “HPS-Drive” release control to control the conveyor drives and an “HPS-Power” backup power supply to supply these drives, which are required to clear the closing area in the event of a fire.

In order to ensure that the control processes are also carried out under fire conditions, additional tested sensors such as fire protection light barriers are used. These light barriers are able to safely monitor the gate area even when there is a lot of smoke and create the conditions for reliable control of the local system components in order to then ensure reliable and safe closing of the lock.

The gates are kept open by the approved battery-buffered holding system of the “HPS-ADVANCED” type.

This decentralized control system can be modularly expanded to include a “HPS-DRIVE” release control system, which controls the drives of the conveyor technology in the closing area of ​​the closure in the event of a fire.

The emergency power supply “HPS-POWER” completes the system control for supplying these drives. In order to be able to control the technology reliably even in the event of a fire, sensors such as fire protection light barriers are used.

The approved assembly combines the system components of the triggering device, power supply, evaluation of the fire detectors as well as operating elements and status displays. The modular design enables flexible adaptation to requirements through the integration of the optional free-travel control and the backup power supply.

The system can be individually adapted to the closure using the system's own configuration software. Potential-free interfaces are available for communication with the conveyor system and with a fire alarm system. A removable storage device for system data and error memory is integrated for service purposes. The central unit can optionally be equipped with an additional control point and, if necessary, a graphic display for status and error display.

Free travel control | HPS-DRIVE

With standardized switching devices, the conveyor drives can be controlled in the event of a fire.

Different designs allow individual adaptation to the conveyor system. The decentralized system can be installed in the immediate vicinity of the drive.

Substitute power supply | HPS-POWER

In the event of a fire, the conveyor drives must be supplied with power via an independent power supply. Either an on-site emergency supply or the decentralized system module is used for this. Different performance classes can be individually combined with the system.

Depending on the area of ​​application, it can also be used for multiple degrees. It can be implemented as an offline or online system, depending on requirements.
