Bullet-resistance

Your safety, our promise.

At a time when security is paramount, particularly sensitive areas such as airports, train stations and police buildings must be protected from potential threats from handguns and assault rifles.

The economic consequences of a failure in these safety-relevant areas should not be underestimated.

Our bullet-resistant doors offer effective protection against large-caliber weapons according to DIN EN 1522/1523 up to bullet resistance class FB6.

With high-quality materials and innovative design, we set new standards in safety.

Facts

  • Highest safety standards: Our bullet-resistant doors are tested according to DIN EN 1522 and DIN EN 1523 and are available in protection classes FB1 to FB7, with the highest class being able to withstand even large-caliber projectiles.
  • Combined solutions: The doors can be equipped with bullet-resistant glazing as well as automatic sliding door drives and multi-point locking systems to meet aesthetic and security requirements.
  • Customization: Hodapp offers customized security solutions that are specifically tailored to the needs of our customers and combines innovative design with maximum protection.

Product testing

The bullet resistance test according to EN 1522 assesses whether doors can withstand ballistic attacks, especially from firearms.

These tests ensure that doors in security-critical areas such as military facilities or banks provide the necessary protection against ballistic threats.

The doors must not be penetrated and must not produce splinters that could endanger people inside.

The tests involve the use of various handguns with different calibers and ammunition types, including pistols, rifles and shotguns. The test setup includes a special test object that is connected to the component to be tested.

Door manufacturers produce special test samples that are shot at from different distances at defined points (door frames, glazing, fittings and material transitions). After each round of shooting, a check is made to see whether splinters have formed on the inside of the component.

The Ulm Firearms Testing Office, an accredited testing and certification body for weapons and security technology in the state of Baden-Württemberg, tests and certifies the bullet resistance of our Hodapp doors in accordance with EN 1522.
