Fire and smoke protection doors – the long-standing favorite in our product portfolio.

Fire protection is considered the pinnacle of performance characteristics, as it focuses primarily on personal safety. The behavior of the fire door in the event of a fire must ensure that escaping persons have sufficient time to reach safety.

We make no compromises when it comes to the door's appearance, as the HoSta fire door boasts a consistent, high-quality appearance – even when special fire protection features are required. Tested according to the European standard EN 1634-1, our fire door meets the highest safety standards.

However, the main danger in the event of a fire is smoke development. This produces toxic fumes that can cause life-threatening poisoning. Therefore, it is crucial that the door also has smoke-retardant properties. Our smoke doors offer optimal protection and reliably prevent the spread of smoke to adjacent areas. Tested according to the European standard EN 1634-3, our smoke doors ensure safety and protection in an emergency.

Inner doors

Interior doors are subject to the national approval procedure. The approval of the doors is issued by the DIBT and the marking is carried out in accordance with the applicable national specifications. Approved products receive a general building approval (AbZ). The resulting characteristics that must be met are:

Fire protection (T30, T90) according to DIN 4102-5
Smoke protection (RS-1, RS-2) and/or tight-fitting
Tested self-closing 10.000 cycles (flaps) and 200.000 cycles (doors)
Material: Elo galvanized and primed, painted steel, stainless steel
Regular external monitoring

Exterior doors | external gates | internal gates

A closure is located outside precisely when the external wall is exposed to direct weathering and/or separates the outside climate from the living space climate. External doors are subject to the European harmonized product standard EN 14351-1. Gates are subject to the standard EN 13241. In addition, Hodapp GmbH & Co. KG has test certificates from accredited institutes (Certificate of Performance), so that the manufactured door products can receive a corresponding CE marking.

Product testing

We are constantly expanding our product portfolio through regular product testing, which requires months of development work and considerable financial investment.

Fire protection tests are particularly demanding and are supervised by qualified experts and carried out in special testing institutes.

We have our own furnace for internal testing. During the tests, the door is exposed to temperatures of up to 1.300 °C and the temperature on the side facing away from the fire is monitored to ensure that specified maximum values are not exceeded.

The fire resistance behavior is optimized through the use of high-quality materials and specialized insulation methods, which are individually implemented in the company's own production.
